Yeah I can see why he doesn’t want to do the broken stuff without a crowd to play off. But that doesn’t stop him doing the cinematic Hardy compound stuff - if anything it makes more sense to do those while the arenas are empty/near empty, surely?

There has to be a better alternative than doing dangerous hardcore stuff live anyway. And especially not with Sammy who had already panicked and given him a concussion once. He’s a bit too wild to be doing anything where the margin for error is so slim.

There’s been a ton of stuff that’s walked the line between risky and reckless on aew and in part I don’t want to lose it, it’s part of what makes it less sanitised than wwe but obviously you don’t want them saying yes to everything.
The thing is as you mentioned Dynamite has at least 1 (hopefully more) genuinely good matches on every single week which is more than wwe gets by any stretch, and when the angles all come together its leagues ahead, so they don’t need so much hardcore stuff - but it is a portion of their audience right now and frankly their roster. It should still be limited to two matches every ppv at most imho, not three or four times a show.

Yeah I wouldn’t want them to lose all the hardcore stuff, like you say it is part of what sets them apart. My concern is that it was allowed to continue after Hardy was clearly not right. Accidents will happen in these events (I mean Sydal was lucky not to get hurt and that was a standard top turnbuckle spot) but if you’re gonna keep doing the dangerous stuff you have to show you’re doing everything you can to keep these guys safe. And I do think the older guys should be protected a bit more, even if they’re hell bent on proving they’ve still got it or whatever.

That’s a good point, it would be cool if they leaned into the cinematic matches, especially considering that Hardy is the originator and the best person at putting them together

Glad they got Ospreay, White and Cobb back in time that A block’s looking tasty, won’t deny njpw has fallen off my radar a bit since all that stuff with Evil though. Hope they can gain some momentum by the time WK rolls around.

Can someone tell TK that AEW have enough wrestlers now? At this rate Dark episodes are going to end up 8 hours long and I’ll still watch them but I’ll be mad the whole time

for real though, kids aspire to be a twitch personalities these days. So having a cool wrestler whose also on twitch is good thing for targeting younger viewers

I agree though that they’ve got too many people to fit into the 2 hr show really now. Whilst I don’t really buy they have too many new wwe guys since archer, cage, starks and kingston have all come in recently but I’m just a bit underwhelmed by Rusev. He’s bound to get lost in the shuffle whilst mox, page, omega, and jericho (and eventually Cody again) are clogging up the main events. Maybe he’ll prove me wrong but I just don’t think he’s got the right stuff.
