Fyter Fest night 1 spoilers:

Really fun show, that. Even Cody/Hager was somehow not dreadful. Best Friends being driven in by Trent’s mum is the kind of wholesome content I needed, and I normally can’t stand the phrase ‘wholesome content.’ Kind of wish they’d put the belts on Best Friends, if only because there will probably never be another time where doing so makes any kind of sense.

Scheduling all but one of the title matches for night one feels a bit silly now Mox/Cage isn’t happening yet, huh? I hope they have a few surprises up their sleeves because it feels like next week could be a bit of a damp squib otherwise. The 8 man tag will probably be fun, Jericho/Cassidy will be ludicrous, and…that’s about it? Oh no wait, there’s a ‘puppy battle royale.’ Hmm…

Yeah week 2 looking weaker now, but Fight for the Fallen will pop an extra rating for them, could spread it out nicely. That MJF tag match was incredible.

True, and I guess when NXT are beating them in the ratings with an event pulled out of their ass at the last minute they’ll need it. Though maybe they’ll drag up another copyright Cody is chasing to troll him again.

I enjoyed the MJF match but when he was cutting his, “why am I fighting these guys again?” promo I couldn’t help but think he had a point. His match with Jungle Boy was great but it’d be nice if he were feuding with someone who isn’t afraid of the mic soon.

That would stop them just bringing in another big lad to fight him out of nowhere. I do kind of want him to take the TNT strap from Cody when he’s done having his wee glory run. But that might take a while.

Apparently she’s was coming to the end of her contract anyway, but basically was stuck abroad (fair dos) but was asked to film a couple of short to camera pieces at home to help keep the title picture in play. She didn’t and stopped returning calls, forcing Impact into last minute reshoots to reconfigure shows shortly before they were due to air.

Perhaps more to it than that, but sounds to me like they just took an opportunity to save a couple of quid and make production easier rather than anything sinister.

I’ve really enjoyed this thus far. Great storytelling with just enough silliness. Thoroughly enjoyed Kevin Kelly being outraged about a man going by the name called EVIL not playing by the rules. “I guess EVIL has shown us his true colours!” He sure has, buddy.
