I presume that there’s been some controversy over the scheduling today? If so it’s hard to see why. If they’d scheduled all matches containing a top four seed then it would just have involved switching Venus v Konju and Konta v Garcia off and Kerber v Muguruza and Halep v Azarenka on. Instead they went with everyone who’s ever won the tournament on the two main courts, plus the great British hope. And that’s what the people paying for those tickets are paying for. Mystic Meg couldn’t have predicted that Kerber and Muguruza would have played a decent match, but frankly today’s Court Two schedule takes me back to the last time I went, when similarly the lineup was for the tennis connoisseurs rather than the big game hunters.
