Yesssss
Yeah this is brilliant, theyāve decsended into chaos already on ep 4.
NZ S3 was good fun. Some fascinating moments along the way.
Australia S3 has started well despite being a celebrity version. These two have the same production company and venue now (just like US and UK) so once youāve watched one season youāll be seeing most (maybe all) of the same missions again.
Was totting up the number of seasons Iāve watched the other day and I realised it makes me look like a maniac.
Iāve (mostly) cut down to two Traitors podcasts now.
I can quit anytime I like. Iām not an addictā¦
I see BBC have randomly added S10 of Australian Survivor to the iPlayer in an attempt to piggy back off the recent success of The Traitors.
Itās a highly regarded heroes vs villains season with returning players and also a decent place for those who enjoy The Traitors to check out a format that was major inspiration.
We tried watching Australian Survivor (not sure which season) but gave up after an episode or two, because the contestants were completely insufferable.
Yeah, I struggled with the contestants when it returned after a 10 year hiatus but they improved over the years.
I also assumed the cast of The Traitors AU would have the exact same problem.
See I far prefer Survivor to Traitors. I like the more frantic pace of the dodgy dealings. Find Traitors really plodding tbh.
Surely insufferable characters are the lifeblood of reality TV, no?
This is the absolute pinnacle of Reality as far as Iām concerned.
Agree with all this.
I much prefer the Survivor format compared to The Traitors, being actually invested in the challenges also helps. Itās a shame that the US version is unlikely to ever be easily accessible in the UK.
Also, reality TV, including competition shows, relies on big personalities regardless of whether theyāre insufferable or not.
Hard to argue with Cagayan being peak reality TV either, there are some earlier seasons that could rival it but the difference for me is that I watched Cagayan play out in real time whereas I watched the likes of the original US Heroās vs Villains about 5 years after it originally aired.
Just finished US Traitors. It properly kicked off about half way through the season and got really good in the finale. Wonāt post any more as I canāt be bothered to spoiler, but some good moments.
Oz S3 is good, interesting gameplay as they have basically all worked out who the traitors are.
Ireland starts tonight!!
Ooh what time?! Are we having a live thread??
The new blood series starting in just over 2 weeks too.
Iām guessing there isnāt much interest in Big Brother here but Iām not sure The Traitors would be a thing without it. They just aired their 1000th episode in the US on Thursday. Think Iāve seen 800+ of them. Iāve dedicated a lot of time to watching reality competition seriesā over the years.
Donāt think this is terribly contentious. Survivor probably started the reality trend but big brother certainly was the breakthrough hit. That said traitors is basically just Cluedo though ![]()
Enjoying the trailers for the celeb version showing a frankly impressive cast but as far as Iāve noticed not bothering to show amol Rajan. Really hope they unanimously go after him at the first round table
In 35 mins! This is the thread!
Shipwrecked wants a word.
Man, I thought Shipwrecked was incredible at the time
Original Shipwrecked had more in common with The Island with Bear Grylls than Survivor/Big Brother US S2+/The Traitors from my recollection. Revivals over the years definitely became more similar.
The guy with tourettes canāt possibly be in line to be a traitor?
Absolute scenes in ep 2 of Ireland.
