The Traitors (BBC) (Part 2)

Big personalities always get murdered early on unfortunately.

Joe Wilkinson didn’t exactly have everyone rolling around on the floor either. Guess if anyone makes a joke that doesn’t drive the episode plot then it gets cut, unless they fart which is they funniest thing anyone can ever do.

Even Lucy (who should have been good) seemed quite low key on it

Yeah it’s not the format. If you want to see them being funny watch Taskmaster, except for Nick as he is simply ‘a really nice man’ on it

Do we know how long they were in the house/castle/whatever compared to the normo version? It feels like maybe one of the problems is that there isn’t much footage to divide between episodes maybe? Unless celebs are in fact even more boring than normo people?

Problems with this series IMO are:

  1. The format has always been flawed, and was never fixed.
  2. It doesn’t work if contestants are concerned about repercussions outside the competition/IRL hierarchy, and obviously celebrities definitely are concerned with this.
  3. The contestants need to care about winning. Celebs dgaf.
  4. The tasks, obvs.

Guessing the celebrities get a bit of a say about the edit as well so their agents can get controversial/off brand moments ironed out.

There was a scene with Kate in an all in one black catsuit sliding herself under a laser and it was up there with the Charlotte digging scene. She’s always been a bit of a crush of mine

No sense of jeopardy to this sadly. You know they are all just there for the fun rather than getting an extension done.

If they do a Celeb version of this again, get a load of washed up pop stars on it and make the prize a record deal. Have them properly fucking each other over

I’d watch this! Get it made!

Get Noel Edmonds on

For example, apparently in the chess board game, they had to pick who was the most like a snake (devious), but the celebrity chosen was unhappy so it got edited out.

Wow. Given there was a shot of them in the tower placing the three pieces down that either means they had to get the three of them back in to refill that, or they had to edit the piece out in post
or maybe all the turret meetings are filmed in one block after it’s all wrapped?

Think its also missing contestants coming up with fake back stories to try trick other players. Alan Carr should’ve done it with an Australian accent or something

We’ve caught up a lot of episodes in one go but have quite enjoyed it. The weak wait for the final is a massive misstep. But my main issue is Nick is far far too much like my boss, which sets my teeth on edge.

Yeah I’m keeping that autocorrect

Some lads on the train were talking about Charlotte digging and it made me feel quite grubby. Sorry everyone.

Was surprised they were running it back to back with celebrity race across the world rather than having the finalĂ© tonight at least until I realised that show hasn’t actually got any celebrities participating, so I guess they needed to try to snatch a bit of audience if they could.

Genuinely struggling to remember for sure who’s still on it
