morning everyone, i hope you have a good day (and if you’re in scotland, a good primary school strike day).
first day at work at my new job went well yesterday, bar a few IT snafus. Already on my first job with a deadline of literally next week, which is a good amount of pressure that i geunienly do like. discrete tasks are my jam. also, the location is absolutely baller, right in the city centre of glasgow. excellent.
2 days a week, at the moment. it was quite refreshing! i got to listen to some music on the commute, and the bus was comfy and warm, and then the office is a small service office style, never worked in one of them like that and it was very nice. plus, whisper it, being with the team actually physically was quite nice
On an emergency 3-11, which is both bad and good (bad because who wants to be working til 11pm at late notice, good because I get out of my late shift on Thursday and my wife has virtual parent’s evening and would’ve had to juggle that and dinnertime/bedtime).
But… It’s currently raining and the buggy rain cover is in the car, which my wife has taken to work. So gonna have to do a slow walk into nursery with B instead.
Today’s my last day before getting back to work proper. I’m lucky that I was able to take this much time but we’ve either been ill or shut in by the rain for most of it so it hasn’t been the relaxing, culture-filled week I was hoping for.
However, last chance to change that today, so we might do a parent & baby cinema trip, otherwise we might go to that horror exhibition at Somerset House. Then I’m off to a private view this evening being put on by a new client, and where I will see one of my oldest friends for the first time in ages so that’ll be nice, just need to avoid a hangover for work tomorrow morning.
8am sunrise here, not that you’d know through the clouds. I know you aren’t going to add any more, and that I already had a Brighton request denied, but 8am! We can get through this!
