it’s not something i personally find very funny, but i understand why other people do, it’s brought three talented comic actors to the wider public’s attention (the comic book guy, sheldon and sheldon’s gf), but it shouldn’t have reached 12 seasons imo.

Still waiting for your blog on the characterisation of Stewart in the Big Bang theory as propaganda

have to admit, as shit as it is, i find it more tolerable than a lot of other sitcoms of its ilk. had a period about 6 years ago where i would finish work at midnight and it would be on E4 when i got home and i found it strangely comforting despite not being funny. probably all the bright colours and shapes.

definitely gets a lot more annoying the more you see it though (which thanks to E4 is A Lot). any of the more recent episodes i’ve seen you can tell they ran out of ideas entirely quite a long time ago.

dunno why people get so bothered about it. just don’t watch it.

Obvs not elements of Family Guy which are just cruel or distasteful or whatnot

Do we really need to do this thread again

As sheeldz put it in a recent new releases thread, it’s not shite, you just don’t like it.

Except that’s absolutely not the case with several posters in this thread.

one thing i find Very Annoying about it though is how they repeat the same very small handful of science references over and over as they have nothing else.

the number of episodes where someone says “Are you familiar with the Schrodinger’s Cat theory?” or explain at length who Marie Curie was is astounding.

Although this is one of my hills, I’ll allow criticism for certain brands of straight white male comedy clogging up space for other folks.

this is starting to look like the Queen thread

Depends how you’re judging the humour. If it’s a case of it being unoriginal then sure. If it’s that it’s not ‘clever’ that’s judging the audience.

It was something about the connection of Stewart failing as a capatilist business owner, taking on traditionally feminine roles, and being sickly, all being connected, think it was you might not have been

Debating if I should watch Young Sheldon, Pixels starring Adam Sandler or Roboshark.

ohhhh yeah. it was about how a lot of the tropes and characters in it are unwittingly alt-right talking points, linked to the creator’s general bro-ness. the figure of the cuck and the concept of being cucked figures heavily in tbbt. stewart is the archetypal cuck, his new job as a male nurse, looking after an elderly woman, being played for laughs because it shows how cucked he is, so forth. leonard migrates from cuck to proto-alpha after obtaining his aryan ideal, etc.

god i was stoned.
