I’m starying tobget really obsessed with these guys. Like in they might be one of my favourite bands type way. That’s not happened in a while.

Mostly on a musical level so far though, not been able to pay much attention beyond there so far.

Just joined facebook for first time purely to sign up to the Twilight Sad fan group so you’re not the only one .

I got started on them via DiS following the release of the last album, they’ve probably become my current favourite band. I can’t imagine now having never head songs like Wrong Car, I became a Prostitute or That Summer at Home…

Just back from seeing them in Bristol. Stripped back set, James didnt even use a microphone. His voice just gets better every time i see him. Nice to hear a bit of chat too. He’s a funny chap, whether intentional or not. Played 6 or 7 from the new one and 3 or 4 ‘classics’. Lovely stuff

Wrong Car and I Became a Prostitute were the first things I got hooked on, then the album No One Can Ever Know, then everything.

New Slang

Tickets still available for new Kingston this Friday.

It’s acoustic, so I presume the Killers can have their synths back for the evening…

Ouch.

I’m in a weird position in so far as I bought the debut and loved it (and still do) and then never heard another note from TTS since.

I bought the new one Friday having seen how rated it is and been listening to it all the time since then but got to say that try as hard as I might it’s really leaving me cold bar one or two songs. Kind of boring and forgettable so not really getting it as everyone else seems to be…

I’d recommend No one want’s to be here. I think it’s the easiest to get into. It was for me anyway.
But yea, still not loving the new album :frowning:

Why did I not get tickets for Barrowlands when it was first announced! IDIOT

I’m on the bus typing this. I’m heading to Rough Trade East for their set there. It’s a “stripped down” set according to the website but looking forward to it.

CD turned up in the post today so just had my belated first listen. great stuff, i’m sort of with Jordo earlier in the thread about not being sure it’s a 10/10 and it’s not their best album but still lovely to see them getting all that attention and praise.

will be interesting to see how it slots into my album ranking after a few listens as it’s currently 1>2>3>4 (3 and 4 have only recently switched places on a revisit). not a bad album in there though.

Always find each album fairly hard to absorb on first listen but then ultimately very rewarding once I’ve persevered which seems to be the case with IWBLTATT.

Still hard to convey the sound and intensity of their live show on record but they give it a good crack!

I’ve been recommending these to people for so many years now. Always amazes me how people who like similar-ish bands have never heard of them!

massively underrated, just listening to it for the first time in a while right now. right up there with the debut. i like the synths on the last 3 but would love them to make another album as noisy as this at some point.

just realised it’s 10 years old this year, holy fuck.

Just had a look at the acoustic tour setlists. Literally exactly the same bar Nottingham where they played Mapped By What Surrounded them as well.

James is an absolute top egg.
