haven’t been to GBK in ages but i remember them being good.

there’s one here now called Bunsen, the menu is written on a small piece of card cos it’s very simple, there are only a couple of options. they don’t go in for any variety of toppings like bacon or blue cheese or egg or any of that (which i do normally quite like), just standard lettuce and tomato etc and they use that processed cheese like McDonalds (not as good as real cheese obviously but i’m actually fine with this). but MY WORD the meat. they ask how you want it cooked, if you get it medium it’s so so juicy. you really have to order a double to experience the true joy of it as the single doesn’t quite do it justice. the double is a face-full of gorgeous juicy juicy meat. wonderful.

Best I’ve ever had too, had one at about 2am after a few drinks mind you but it was great at the time and also was my first time in berlin, though I’m not in love with the place like other people are it was a good time.

I’m a vegan dickhead now and have had a fair few decent alternatives in the past 18 months but the house of seitan spicy chicken one is the best.

had a burger king on the way home. have to say a small cheeseburger plus chicken royale combo meal really hits the spot.

I went to In n’ Out Burger in San Francisco last month. I read the reviews but thought it was average. Two weeks after that I had a California Burger at Honest Burger at Brixton Village. That was an amazing burger.

Caveat to my ‘I eat the same burger every time’ because as a veggie I’m lucky if there is more than one option and if there are two one of them is a cheat where they just put a big mushroom on and think that counts as a patty.

My daughter currently has a book from school to read called ‘My Hamburger’ and it’s a bit of a mission to get through it because it’s a sort of ‘build a burger’ stage by stage book and she is determined that it’s only a ‘hamburger’ when it’s fully assembled so on the second page where it says ‘take the hamburger’ or something and it’s just the patty she cracks it when we tell her that’s what the word says.

(This isn’t unique to this book - she often picks her own phrasing or objects to what the book says. And that’s fine except the point is that she actually reads the words so it’s a bit of a crappy battle.)

Never had a burger I would rate any higher than “fine” from Meat Liquor. The one in Bristol closed after about a year because they just weren’t very good.

I cannot be arsed to read back through this thread but I need to know if Honest Burger is worth a visit. Just opened in Cardiff. I hope someone says no because I’m on a diet and shouldn’t really be going anywhere near there…
