Yeah it’s a bit of a weird one to watch, that. It’s pretty sickening and taps into the fears I have about Biden, but I’d imagine the Trump campaign think this will connect with black America and I don’t really think it will play at all because not sure anyone is ever going to think, “Oh well, I’d better vote Trump then,” if they feel a bit weird about Biden.

(Whose music is he using at the end there? I wonder if they’re cool with Trump using it because the GOP have history of doing this sort of thing, don’t they?)

If he manages to talk consistently about jobs and maybe even healthcare, and the economy is still deep in the shitter by the time November comes around, Biden might win. The fact he’s senile and won’t change a thing doesn’t really matter, Americans have always voted for mentally diseased old reactionaries. If the libs are still intent on the ‘he’s not Trump!’ strategy and are still getting high on the red scare/yellow peril fumes that they love so much for some reason, they’ll lose. I think it’s that simple.

This one is definitely a big hitter.

Are the Dems running anything yet?

This is the latest Joe Biden ad

(Un)believable that the thumbnail doesn’t even feature him.

Who is this Biden President dude? What a name…

That seems really weak comparatively. Interesting to skip Clinton in the ‘Great’ Democrat presidents…

The current strategy of the Biden campaign is to go consistently negative on Trump’s handling of the corona virus crisis.

This was the ad from two days ago:

“Unprepared Joe Biden for President”

Ah ok so they’re going with the ‘I’m a phantasmic presence that isn’t Donald Trump’ strategy and so are going to lose. Good to know.

Ah yes, chucking in a bit of yellow peril. I’m sure they could’ve highlighted Biden’s record without the ‘creepy China’ overtones.

Mike Bloomberg’s total spend on his failed campaign was $1,033,391,453.32.

That’s an awful lot of money for winning American Samoa and nothing else.

It was an investment well made if you think of it as prevention of his being taxed more.

I would not be able to bring myself to vote for these people. Sorry.

The Biden campaign is considering at least three firms for providing digital ads and online messaging:

  • Hawkfish, founded by Mike Bloomberg
  • Bully Pulpit Interactive, founded by former Obama digital campaign manager Andrew Bleeker
  • Precision Strategies, co-founded by Biden campaign manager Jen O’Malley Dillon

In addition, the Biden campaign has already used the digital advertising services of:

  • Civis Analytics, founded by former Obama data analyst Dan Wagner
  • Blue State Digital, founded by staffers of Howard Dean’s 2004 presidential campaign

Sometimes get reminded about how Amy Poehler and Parks & Rec totally lionised this cess pit politics, including with an appearance by Joe Biden (as himself), and it seems so bizarre in retrospect. Most bizarre thing is how unremarkable I found it at the time - I feel like it’s kind of an important cultural artifact in that respect, it’s easy to forget what things were like politically 6 or so years ago

We only watched the show last year for the first time and that final season was definitely very “Erm, oh dear,” as I seem to recall it was pretty much working on the basis Hillary would definitely win.
