Many politicians don’t deliver on their promises once they are in office. Obama didn’t. Trump didn’t.

If you want to compare the two options available in the US presidential election, the only material we can work with for now are the policy plans the Biden and Trump campaigns present to us.

By contrast, this is surely on of the most damning indictments of the Republicans.

These aren’t high level bullet points with an actual plan that’s been carefully developed under each one. With the whole weight of the governing party and the government behind them, these represent the entirety of their second term agenda!

“Create 1m new small businesses” is nothing more than hope that enough of those that ceased due to Covid start up again, there’s clearly no actual plan for “return to normal in 2020” beyond pretending the virus is no longer an issue and “teach American exceptionalism” which is weird and sinister enough as it is clearly isn’t the culmination of their worked through education policy (“American exceptionalism” was apparently a pejorative term coined by Stalin anyway).

You have to appreciate their love for a capital letter, at least.

^this.

They’ve already said that they won’t honour the campaign pledges.

It’s not for me say if people believe that that the Biden/Harris website will be implemented are just ill-informed or deliberately ignoring the available information to fit the narrative they want to hear.

Capital Letters Are Very Patriotic!

Forgot all about the candidate debates ahead.

Fucking hell they’re going to be depressing aren’t they?

I don’t think that’s true at all. E.g. Trump being a serial sex offender (allegedly) is not part of his policy plan but is relevant to him as an option.

And if the Democrats don’t take the Senate too they’re going to struggle to get many of these proposals through regardless of how well designed they are.

It will obviously comes back on Biden as his failure, but he’d be largely powerless to prevent it.

Wait what? You mean you don’t take anything politicans or parties have done or said in the past into account when making a choice on who to vote for, you only read what’s in their campaign materials?

The above discussion relates to the two candidates’ vision for the future, not their historic track record or their personalities.

This is a good longform analysis of the Bernie campaign, if you have the stomach for it.

The tl;dr version is that Chuck Schumer horror quote of happily losing a vote in the rust belt for two in the leafy suburbs came true, just four years behind schedule.

Seriously are they all just high on coke/MD/Adderall?
