I look at stuff like this and I think “I know it should be Biden. It probably will be Biden” but my brain is now in self-preservation mode and I can’t imagine anything other than a Trump win.

Will be interesting to see what the Democrats do, do they put a lot of focus on winning Florida back which would go a long way towards victory, or do they focus on the Pennsylvania/Michigan/Wisconsin trio instead which I think would be enough if they won all three

The polls in 2016 saw wildly fluctuating changes (even this far out) which we haven’t really had here so far, it’s been pretty steady Biden lead for the most part so far, but who knows what the next few months will offer.

Biden isn’t Clinton, on the other hand Clinton didn’t have to contend with the level of voter suppression the Republicans are summoning for this one. Biden has to have a really clear lead sailing into this one to get a win the Rs aren’t going to contest imo. It’s going to be a Iowa caucus-style shitshow.

Hilary Clinton was right in the middle of her convention bounce in mid-August 2016 so these like for like figures are misleading. Also I think the number of ‘undecideds’ is a lot lower this time compared to 2016 (for now anyway)

Having to really restrain myself on comparisons to previous historical dictators with questionable hair at the moment due to the naked vote rigging. Guess at least the police aren’t actively rounding people up and marching them to vote for Donny Shitbags (yet)

Whilst I don’t doubt that Republicans love dirty tricks it is weird seeing everyone suddenly going on about the US Postal Service being the last bastion of US democracy considering it’s been the butt of jokes for decades (especially in Cheers and Seinfeld) and then virtually forgotten about for the last two decades

The organisation my wife works for has data suggesting that Trump’s red hats are knocking a crazy number of doors in the Midwest. They are pretty worried.

I didn’t watch any of the convention yet, but I did watch a bit of CNN. They think they’ve got it in the bag.

Hopefully the republican’s can still have that cover band for theirs :slight_smile:
