am i correct in my assumption that the entirety of this season took place over 36 hours?

Fucking hell, are you seriously saying they didn’t wrap-up All Out War in the finale? JFC.

Indeed - we’re moving to a brave new future where the show occurs in real time :open_mouth:

Summary of the timeline for this season here:

Hmm, maybe should have spoilered that. Just in case:

Yes M9, fuck all happened all season basically…

don’t watch the show but I quite enjoy following this thread.

lol just remembered this download

right, that was truly awful, as expected, but it’s almost like they revel in frustrating the viewer

sorry cba to spoiler this SPOILERS BELOW

start with what’s been said above, maggie’s acting, oh my christ - if they really are going to put her front and centre that’s enough for me to never watch this programme again.

jesus & morgan - makes no sense, jesus is telling morgan he doesn’t have to kill saviours literally whilst a bunch of saviours are being gunned down in the background.

which obviously leads us to the central point of not killing Negan. again, they’ve literally just killed a shitload of saviours, every single one of which is indisputably less at fault than Negan, and yet they have to keep him alive just so they can start this incredibly lame and not at all convincing feud between team maggie and team rick. a feud that serves no purpose other than another season of breaking up the group.

ALSO, rick got hit with lucille which was just… a few hours ago according to the timeline covered in walker blood. i thought the whole point was that hitting someone with it would now infect them?! maybe that’s gonna happen anyway, but it makes more sense that it’s conveniently forgotten i guess.

oh and gabriel. fuck me. who fucking cares. just kill him already. no one is interested in whether this whole programme is or isn’t a christian allegory ffs.

i’m not gonna watch it again after that, i’m done - the whole next series is going to be maggie seething in an unintelligible accent rather than just storming into whatever jail Negan is in and just fucking shooting him, because no one just fucking shoots anyone in this programme, because if she did her and Rick would have nothing to fight about and it would finally be the end of this godforsaken programme.

Never have I been so comfortable with dumping a show I’d previously enjoyed.

It’s never going to end either. Ever.

Pretty sure there was a fuss kicked-up recently about her and equal pay, and that she’d signed on to film another show later this year. Could well be wrong though, but cba to poke my head into the TWD reddit and sift through a thousand fucking memes and moans to check

this bit was honestly bizarre (tried to find any video of it i could but the comment is actually pretty spot on  )

The biggest laugh of the finale was that after eight seasons, the penny finally dropped for some characters that Rick is actually really, I mean really bad at making decisions and that he doesn’t care about anyone’s interests except his own :grinning:

Other than that, it was just a bit dull, wasn’t it? Though I did enjoy Gabriel’s Ladybird-ing out of the moving car and Eugene’s bullet hijinks but urm everything else shrugs

Waaaay too much sweaty Rick, not enough Darryl.

I was just pleased that this interminably slow story line seems to be basically over yes I know Negan is still alive but the saviors seem to be done and part 2 of the season was a lot better than the 1st half which was some of the shitest TV I have ever witnessed

Is there going to be a new showrunner or something now? Might see an improvement in quality next season, maybe…

Seen a screengrab of them walking past a load of spikes that mark a border. In the comic, this was significant as the territory of the Next Big Threat™ (and it certainly becomes a significant border). Makes me wonder whether they do a time jump after all. Could definitely do with a shake-up.
