Will have to run it by the mods but I reckon there’s a bit of room for some Palace chat now the Leeds chat has gone quiet

Willing to rubber stamp it, seeing as the Welsh embargo has been remarkably well observed so far.

give it a few more weeks, Ruffers’ll be back from his hols soon.

I’ve always quite liked the Pride of Wales, Swansea City.

You better checks 'em before you Wrexham!

That was the first time I’ve actually seen 90 minutes of Newcastle this season, really impressed by the way that Rafa has got us organised at the back and breaking forward with intent. He’s doing a remarkable job getting the best out of the players we’ve got. We looked the more threatening side today, would have won if it wasn’t for Lejeune being a tit.

I hope so, playing Zaha and Townsend as a front two was a great tactic as we had pace. I wouldnt mind seeing Zaha and Benteke as a front two.

Zaha played as striker for the youth teams and made his debut snd scored as a striker. His pace running at centre backs could work.

Anyone watching Soccerbox?

You conceded two goals at home to Southampton?

Away to Southampton. One of them was a stupid penalty which isn’t really a tactical thing. We just looked reasonably well organised, defenders usually in a position to stifle attacks with an interception or block before they became dangerous. Admittedly part of it was probably Southampton’s limited attacking threat.

They’ve not started off well have they? Made quite a lot of decent signings too - apparently they’ll be fucked financially if they don’t make the CL for the next two years

Pretty in keeping with their results against good teams so far this season.

Doesn’t look like there was much planning with the signings. Bonucci is the only one used to being in a back three and so few have Serie A experience. Kessié looks good though.

Yeah, from what I’ve seen of hakan sp he seems decent too, what I’ve seen is mostly free kicks though.

How has Bonucci cracked on?

The world seemed a happier, simpler place when Sundays revolved around Italian football, eh? Remember watching it as a kid, 92/93/94ish and being completely mesmerised by it, it was like they were from Mars compared to English players. I’d sit there for hours writing down the names of players and their positions, trying to put full teams together. It’s probably hard for younger people to appreciate how huge it was at the time.

Same. Think it was gazetta on Saturday and then just live matches on Sunday. Worth noting that Spanish football was all I watched live at the the time due to my grandad’s dodgy 2 metre satellite on the shed, but the football was pony and serie a was where it was at.

Transworld sport came before gazetta too, so it was like a 3 hour sports fest that I never missed. Still have zidane’s partially balding head on a juventus shirt burned into my memory.

I haven’t seen much of Milan this season but apparently he’s not been very good. Think anyone would look worse after going from Juve’s settled defence to that hurriedly assembled group though.

Nuts that Argentina had Benedetto playing instead of Icardi in their recent qualifiers.
