Monday, because it’s usually responsible for the Sunday Scaries and therefore has a disturbing sphere of influence

Tuesday it is always Tuesday anything else is a lie.

I’m not 100% sure about this - Sunday needs more dread

How is Tuesday worse than Monday?

Which day is better? (Apologies to those of you who don’t work Monday to Friday but please feel free to swap for ā€˜your’ Fridays/Mondays)

  • Friday (work, but anticipation of weekend)
  • Sunday (weekend, but anticipation of work)

There’s a really good Friday vibe around the beer factory usually, and there’s beer.

Think Tuesday is the most ā€œthis bullshit againā€ of the days. At least from Wednesday on you can comfort yourself thinking that you’re over halfway through the week.

though to be honest since 2020 I still struggle with telling days apart sometimes even as things have gotten more ā€˜normal’

I would usually go Fridays over Sundays, but Fridays are a bit of a pain in the arse in the CCB household - usually I’m doing two school runs plus taking Cheekster 1 to her youth group in the early evening. And there are always loads of last-minute Friday emails and requests, so it’s never the carefree day I’d anticipate.

Sundays are just fucking horrendous. And that’s even with liking my job and not really having much dread anymore either. ā€˜You can’t polish a turd’ represented as a day.

Tuesday is the day at work when people have meetings or go into the office. Even when people weren’t working from home much Tuesdays were always meeting day so everyone would be in the office instead of site visits or whatever. So I think partly Tuesdays are the worst because you’ve still got most of the week left but you’re not well rested from the weekend, partly I’m just associating them with boring meetings and having to spend half my lunch break queueing for the microwave

Mondays:

  • usually fewer meetings
  • people haven’t really woken up yet so there’s less work / bullshit
  • still feeling fairly energised from the weekend
  • rarely as bad as you’d fear

Tuesdays

  • loads of meetings
  • everyone is rushing around trying to be productive and making demands of you
  • previous weekend feels like a distant memory and forthcoming weekend is days away

Makes sense, for me Monday is more of a shock to the system then by Tuesday I’m used to working life more. Maybe having double weeks would be better (10 days on, 4 days off)…

  • I like the sound of double weeks
