Having said that, the bassline in Exiles through headphones sounds ace. Spotify
I think David Holmes did all of the segue stuff.
He did.
The first day i bought an album, Troublegum was one of those albums. Everyone in this thread knows how hreat it is. Still got the cigarette box singles off the next album but it fell really flat. Interesting to see them talk up the scares of brit pop in the making of that album, in the link up thread, that makes sense. The only other album of theirs I’ve tried was Crooked Timber, which is rightfully being mentioned. It was decent, i have never gone back to it. Seems like I’ll give Cleave a go. Not really sure what i want from them. I guess I’m mostly just glad they’re still doing it over a quarter of a century later.
I’ve listened to Crooked Timber a few times now, it’s proper good, need to start working my way through some of the others now that new-ish Therapy seems to have clicked for me. I’ve still got all the singles from Troublegum and Infernal Love era, including the badges. Wish I still had my triangle-man t shirt though…
Totally missed this release. Been a fan since Troublegum came out.
Anyone caught them on this tour so far? Great fun last night…
I had no idea they’d done so many albums since Semi Detached, which is the last album of theirs I’ve heard.
Not sure I’m going to dive into the 8 albums since then but might give the latest a go.
Plus Crooked Timber
They’re still so good. Saw them in Bristol on Tuesday. I’m not interested in bands of a certain era where seeing them live now is a sedate affair. Therapy? are not that, at all. And the albums are still great too.
