It’s currently 14.3 at home but i’m not there. We’ve been wondering how cold it would need to get before we do a midday boost for the cat who may be cold indoors.

  • Always on for The Princess
  • Oh I’d definitely be boosting that mog now
  • Anything below 10 degrees
  • She’s a cat in a fur coat! She’ll be fine (aka i’m a monster/tory)

Bear in mind my cat is tiny (2.5kg) and is 14!! Would you let your nan sit in the cold? NO.

Can’t be arsed set timers etc so just bash to the frost stop button (5oc) to turn it off and then turn up to 20oc when cold/all the fucking time

Wouldn’t it just come on if the temperature goes below 14 anyway, why would it need a boost?

No cause it’s not set to come on during the day when i’m not there.

It’ll come on between 6pm and 10pm if it goes below 20 degrees.

Could you just set one radiator to be on a low heat so she can curl up near it if she’s cold? Surely no need to heat an entire house for a cat

That would mean turning off all radiators in the morning and then turning all of them back on at night.

And god knows if she’ll even be in that room (she moves around a lot)

Thermostats in every room, heating has separate timer settings for weekdays and weekend. No idea of current temperature & timer settings. Heating has not been required yet.

Didn’t we have a thread on this recently where we really wittled down who was tight and who was not?

Nothing worse than a heating scrooge who says “just put a jumper on”

19.0 in the mornings and evenings. Sometimes boost it to 19.5 if B says she’s cold.

16 during the day and overnight, 18 in the morning and evening.

Really irked that there is only one thermostat in a 3 bedroom house (and it’s in the hallway - the coldest place - which is double stupid), but our old 2 bed flat had one in the bedroom and one for the living room. I want my living room and bedroom warm at different times ffs.

(By 16 during the day/night - I mean basically off unless it’s absolutely freezing)

Cannot emphasise how stupid I find it that the apartments had two separate heating circuits but the houses only have one. On the same estate, built at the same time.

Should probably try trousers and a jumper first.

Don’t have a thermostat.

Have the heating on for an hour in the morning, from 7-8, and an hour in the evening, from 6-7.

Will pop the heating on for a bit extra in the evening for a treat if its a bit nippy.
