I can’t drive and don’t drink but I do bloody love a nice train journey to be fair. Just disgustingly expensive innit.

I remember going to Forest away in the cup, it was postponed twice, finally went ahead at the 3rd attempt.

get a cheap flight to somewhere that has cheap rail travel, then sell the story to the papers with the hook: what has society come to, it was cheaper for this man to fly somewhere and ride a train than ride a train here (because he likes riding on trains). Then use the money from the papers to pay for the flights and trains. Free holiday!

If you notice any deals for trains to United v Palace let me know. Not sure I’m willing to pay £80 odd quid again though.

I’ve not been to Anfield (as always seemed to be on a Sunday) for about 15 years but have been to Old Trafford a few times.

Offers still there for a car share if you want to save cash.

I haven’t traveled much in the UK for quite a while, so maybe you guys can help me out with this? I’m going to Cardiff in October, via Gatwick. So I just need to get from Gatwick to Cardiff. Obvs train would be better than a coach, but the coach is a tenner and train tickets are ridiculous. Should I just chance it and see what’s available once I get there, or go for the £10 coach ticket???

You definitely, definitely shouldn’t chance it and see what’s available when you get there from a train point of view. It will cost you an absolute fortune.

You won’t get from Gatwick to zone 1 for a tenner - just get the coach.

It’s already almost £150 for a standard one way ticket, what is wrong with your country!?

They also made me pay for recorded delivery on tickets that needed refunding after a cancelled service on Sunday. Knobheads.

Fucking absurd isn’t it mate, sorry on behalf of my compatriots.

£10 is a steal tbh. i’d buy it and even if you get a better offer you haven’t lost much. the trains are an absolute disgrace #votecorbyn

Can we agree that an hour and 15 minutes is enough time to get from the plane to the coach? I’ve already fucked up one thing in planning this trip, don’t want to fuck up any more

not a fucking chance mate

Srs?

like 1m 15 from when the plane is supposed to land to the coach leaving? are you leaving from victoria?

She’s leaving from Gatwick, and getting the coach direct.

EDIT: I think so, anyway…

In answer to the question, it depends whether you’re checking in any luggage, or whether you’re only taking on hand luggage. If it’s the latter, definitely. If it’s the former, probably.

You can use an Oyster card from Gatwick to London. Off-peak its apparently £8.10, and you will just need a credit card, not an actual Oyster.

ah my b, i assumed victoria. yeah probably enough time, unless your plane is late, or there’s massive queues in customs.

From the airport coach station, lol

Gatwick can be a slog between terminals. I would say 75 minutes is probably okay but planes & airports and delays love each other. Depends what the next departure is for a coach. If it’s 15 mins I’d go for that. If it’s 60 mins then just chance 1 hour and 15
