Dunno about this, £150 is what I’ve normally spent on a UK wedding weekend all-in i.e. cheap hotel for one night, few drinks after any already-paid-for booze has run out, travel costs plus present.

It’s a nice idea I guess if most of the guests are into it but they could’ve got somewhere cheaper if they were that broke. “We can’t afford to get married” is bullshit.

10k for the venue not including food and drink?

Imagine thinking that Alligator was any less “John Lewis” than the rest of The National’s discography.

I mean I can understand that if the National really isn’t your thing that you’d think it ALL sounded like a John Lewis men’s section. But thinking one or 2 of them are great and sound radically different from those that followed is really mind-boggling. Obviously the correct approach is that they are all brilliant.

Unless those were really meta posts which were, in fact, meant to be the thing to get annoyed about today. In which case well done :wink:
