Yeah I had to stop listening to it. Hate all that self-referential, in-jokey crap. I mean obviously it’s A Good Thing if you’re not a curmudgeon because it’s building an inclusive relationship with one’s audience etc. etc. But I’m a curmudgeon. So I can’t stand it.

If there was one industry I didn’t expect to be DISRUPTED, it’s the online mattress industry. Loads of start ups in this one now ain’t there. You’ve got the Casper, and the Eve, and the Derek and the…

Great work lads. Now stop sponsoring my fucking podcasts.

(I realise this observation would’ve been made to better effect 6-12months ago)

Yes and he laughs at his own jokes, arrrrgh.

i can see how it’d sometimes be a good thing, it’s more just like chatting shit and whatever happens happens but it annoyed me when he’d have someone on and then ask them absolutely nothing they’d ever been asked a million times before

Its got kinda good recently with the live ones. And whenever Alice Fraser is on it’s very very good again

Speaking of which, ‘I do a podcast with Bob Mortimer’ just become a meme after beefing with Owen Jones on Twitter:

tbf OJ gives him a pretty good doing there. Not hard mind - Dawson is UNBEARABLE on twitter.

Almost as unbearable as Owen Jones in that Campbell interview wince

Yeah but he does also make the reasonable point that Owen Jones comes across as a total wanker in that video

He makes said point very unreasonably though. No need to be that nasty about it. Got a bit of justified blowback then started crying about it and blocking people. Very poor form.

Andy Dawson is unbearable.

  1. Prick on twitter
  2. ‘Get in the sea’ is shit
  3. Unfunny
  4. He made me question listening to something that involves Bob Mortimer

No time for him, hope he dies.

When one of the co-hosts is a right miserable bastard. Lighten up ffs, this is meant to be entertainment.

You realise it’s the same advert each time? Cheers.

people eating. you’ve known you have a podcast coming up all week, and you choose the recording session to start chomping and squelching and gulping.

Football Ramble- all of them except Marcus

Kermode and Mayo is the only one I’ve ever bothered with, and despite the crap injokes and rambling smug emails from the listeners I still really like it. I absolutely HATE the advert in the middle though, either for Fighting Talk (which isn’t terrible but I don’t get up that early on a Saturday) or for the absolutely horrendous sounding “Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy” (who a cursory google reveals is actually Matthew Syed, what happened Matt?), which makes TalkSport seem highbrow.

Yeah lot of hate for Kermode and Mayo in this thread but I like it (despite being on board with a lot of the criticisms upthread). I have a lot of very long commute journeys to my school in the middle of nowhere and it’s nice to have them for company (the waffle/actual film review ratio doesn’t bother me, I’m normally a couple of weeks behind and I’ve already decided what I’m going to go and see based on the Pete Bradshaw review in The Guardian)

Tough to pick a side in that spat… Both quite annoying people. That interview was toe curling though.

Really annoys me when a podcast is poorly mixed. For example if I’m going to sleep and a clip of a song is played and it’s much louder than the spoken segment before it.

Another thing is where one of the presenters is on Skype. For some reason listening to someone on a Skype call is a lot less pleasant to listen to than someone on a telephone call.
