I’m not rising to it my friend

being overly interested in anything where a passing familiarity would suffice (music, beer, food, movies and … yes … cycling)

nah - being really into something is the very essence of life

I know that really. I’m just a horrible person.

Quite enjoy ironing. Therapeutic.

A clean, shiny car is immensely satisfying, though.

I think he means doing it yourself. You can get 7 blokes to do it for £6.99 in a Homebase car park with results x1000 better than you’ll get, yet I still see people with a sponge and bucket doing it themselves.

Being a horrible person.

Yeah, it’s not a huge effort and a sparkling clean car on a sunny day is a beautiful sight.

That said, folk who spend hours polishing, waxing and etc-ing need to get a life.

I washed the gf’s car the other bank holiday Monday. Complete waste of time.

Not this for me Clive.
Dried beans/chick peas/lentils >>>>>> tinned

hmmm crunchy lentils

I always feel that those who comment under articles discussing the death of a public figure with “who?” might have a bit too much time on their hands.

Related: Those who on the Guardian site - and as far as I can tell, it’s only on the Guardian site - put a negative comment underneath an article concerning a new/emerging band or artist, ending their comment with an inexplicable “next!”

My real answer: Life’s too short to read comments online.

I have no doubt they taste better - but the hours of boiling and soaking are not worth the small benefits in flavour and texture

there really is a unique type of idiot who enjoys commenting on guardian online articles
