roast dinners are not overrated, it’s just that very often they’re shit

in a pub, a roast dinner will be shit 99% of the time, the spuds are always crap. ALWAYS

xmas dinner - turkey is shit, my parents have never had one for crimbo. when i was young they said it was cos they knew we wouldn’t eat it all (especially as we’ve always gone to my aunt’s house for boxing day). now they just outright admit that they think it’s shit. we’ve had all kinds of things over the years, pheasants, goose, really high quality bit of beef etc.

while i’ve probably described other things i’ve read on DiS as the Wrongest Opinion of all time, this is definitely going ot be hard to beat

pizza is the finest achievement of humanity

like roast dinners, 99% of champagne experiences are poor but when you drink stuff that’s really really good it’s absolutely wonderful - and therefore not overrated

A pub roast dinner is just an excuse to go to the pub earlier than seems acceptable on a Sunday. They’re always rank.

football is a far better reason to go to the pub early on a sunday

can’t remember what the fixtures were but a couple of years ago i took a day of annual leave to recover after watching a super sunday, was a good of my time imo

When @Avery and I last made Christmas dinner for my family my step-dad said it was the best he’d ever had. And my step-nan is a brilliant cook.
