THIS and films. Even films I’ve seen that I really enjoyed like Miyazaki films, I can’t get away from this weird creepy feeling when I’m watching them.
It’s because when I was little I stumbled across lots of films that I thought were just nice cartoons and then was met with some horrible images. One of them a guy had a corn on the cob shoved up his ass. WHAT? Akira was on the tv and the image of a seeing the life drain from a guys face in that as he bled out was not good. Not at all

Genuinely, I don’t get anything from that stuff anymore. Spent a long time studying history and archaeology, both in academia and in my own time, and I remember fucking EVERYTHING. My memory is like a fucking vice and is filled with the horrors of humanity at all times.
If I’m watching or listening to anything I need it to cheer me up, not bring me down.
Actually, and obviously, there’s tons of stuff that puts me off.
Another crime drama about a guy killing young women? Oooh, how different, tell me more.
