Nothing screams “tory” like using a newfangled “dentist-recommended” toothbrush (and bleating on about it). They’re a faddish status symbol. There’s a reason standard, non-electric toothbrushes have been basically unchanged and in popular use for centuries.

I have an electric toothbrush but it was £12.99 from Superdrug rather than the £69.99 types you can get from John Lewis. I enjoyed looking at the electric water jet flossing machine but I’d rather spend the money on booze.

well you can extend items to things like huge tracts of land that go unused, second homes etc but an expensive item is silly
