something that’s meant to be more reusable or longer lasting but it just doesn’t work right and it irks you and why didn’t you buy the nice easy big business version instead
my Wave water bottle. They make good biodegradable phone cases which I recommend (with wheat fibres I think?) and when I bought one I thought I’d grab this too instead of always using old plastic bottles
turns out the paint rubs off on anything it bumps into, so i’ve got a bunch of books, clothes, gadgets with blue marks on them. Have to keep it in a separate part of my bag now ffs
99% of cleaning products.
I bought some eco-friendly deodorant which is vegan and comes in a cardboard tube. Really liked that it came in a cardboard tube (because the regular plastic ones are such a wild waste) except it goes absolutely everywhere when you put it on so I keep ending up treading vegan deodorant into the carpet.
I was losing metal water bottles like 1 a year so switched back to plastic water bottles and just reuse as much
bought this stuff for a while and it was rubbish
toilet’s so much cleaner since going back to bleach
don’t mind some of their other stuff though
do think Ecover stuff is good though
lol, timing
massive bags of original source shower gel to pour into (2) bottles. I’m not saving any planet with this shit.
Ecover laundry detergent,
Those laundry ball things
Who Gives A Crap? loo roll
Think we had some Ecover washing up liquid once that was…fine? But we’re dishwasher pricks so it takes us about a year to get through a bottle of washing up liquid anyway, so any environmental gain is marginal at best.
We had some of the Method cleaning spray for the sides because someone else I know who has a very tidy kitchen uses it and it smells nice, but it was utterly useless.
Nah - my other half used Ecover washing up liquid when we first met. It was AWFUL! It’s Fairy or nothing for me
i liked my metal water bottle but it was a bit bigger than necessary and was getting bashed to shit from being careless with it. took it out at work one day and the paint started flaking over all my stuff so i started leaving it at home. i might bring it back out of retirement though.
i’d already bought a second one that’s a bit smaller and made of fibreglass or something so i just bumped that up to main water bottle, it’s quite good although i slightly broke the fastening bit of the lid by dropping it but it still fastens so it’s all good. it says leakproof but it does leak from under the lid if i overfill it and i never learn.
Eco washing up is absolutely fine you muppets
i have their everyday shower spray and it seems decent but i keep forgetting to use it everyday now
KeepCup, the seal is rubbish and it always ends up spilling into my sleeve when I’m walking.
It’s even worse now after I bought a replacement cup because mine broke; they must have slightly changed the dimensions because my older lid isn’t at all tight to the new cup so now it slops down my chin and shirt as well if I try to drink with the lid on.
I found that I needed to use loads more Ecover than regular washing up liquid. It’s a no from me
Smol dishwasher tablets left everything in the dishwasher unclean, and their laundry stuff made our washing machine smell bad somehow.
Switched to Ecover (yeah that’s right, haters, Ecover!) and it’s loads better.
yeah going from my well meaning bamboo brush to an electric one was mind blowing. Never had such a complimentary dentist after that
Got some cleaning spray things that come in the form of a tablet you dissolve in the bottle. I think the brand was Homesense. Really disappointing, like cleaning with just water, especially the bathroom cleaner.
I think we need a thread that’s the other side of this, eco friendly products that are actually good
