In my freelance tour stuff I love talking about it as it really interests me and I tend to talk to people who find similar things interesting.
I quite like talking about some of my office projects as again, they’re about the city and local towns and feel like they’re a good talking point at times.
Not really bothered about talking about appraisals or that sort of stuff but I don’t like the concept that talking about work is bad because it you need or want to then it’s a huge part of your life. Often find myself apologising for work talk and I want to stop that.
Same for people eye rolling when you talk about kids. Agreed it can be pretty boring to hear about if it’s someone you’re talking to out of politeness and don’t really know but it’s just like commenting on the weather, isn’t it. A thing to get the conversation going. That said I don’t enjoy talking about M in return on a small talk level but I do with people who’ve met her. Maybe this is more to do with not having the other parent to talk to about her though

I like to tell it how it is, and how it could be, how it was, and of course, how it should be.
