I had no idea the Pillsbury Doughboy was called Poppin’ Fresh

And I say this as someone who has used the phrase “Poppin’ Fresh” before, just because I liked the ridiculous sound of it.

Apparently I’ve been pronouncing ‘Nice biscuits’ incorrectly my entire life.

Like the French city innit

Apparently so!

WHAAAAT?

That’s one of those discussions I’ve had a number of times over the years but I thought last time I checked the French city had nothing to do with them.

Does that mean they’re “neese biskwee”?

Until a minute ago I thought a gnu was a large flightless bird, like an ostrich or an emu :flushed::flushed::flushed:

And when I say ‘thought’, I didn’t have any doubt. My first reaction just now was ‘eh, this crossword clue is wrong’ until I googled it. Guess it’s just the similarity to ‘emu’ but whaaaaaaaat

Off the top of my head I think it’s some kind of goat/antelope thing but chiefly gnu just makes me think of Linux now

They’re the gnicest works of gnature in the zoo!

I only know this because I grew up next door to a pub called the Gnu (can’t be many of them?) and it had a classic pub sign with a gnu on it.

Just another name for wildebeest, it seems.

Who gnu⁉️

Just found out what the plural is. You can add an s, or just use gnu. Not sure if you knew that, or what your preference is. It’s gnus to me, though.

I grew up listening to this and I only just found out it was from The Muppets…

Flanders & Swann originally, I think
