If people can see in from outside, and you have blinds which close from the top, then you end up completely closing them for privacy and to stop people outside seeing your fancy TV or whatever.

With the ones that close from the bottom, you can partially close them, and still let natural light in by leaving them open at the top.

Also you can walk around bottomless and nobody will be any the wiser.
