Think I read on here that they don’t have kettles cos merican lekkie isn’t up to boiling water

We mostly walked but, yes, that was pretty common.

Bleachers.

my sister in-law has a kettle, which is relevant, as she lives over there.

Calling conjunctivitis “pink eye”

Finding pink eye hilarious for some reason

And ‘garage sales’!

Stove top or plug in?

Lots of kettles. Electric ones, too!

plug in, baby!

This titbit was told to me on here so I blame that forgotten poster (sounds a bit @markee)

The game/sport/lifestyle of hackie-sack

I used to play quite a bit! It’s a lot of fun and got me to socialise in the park, so extra bonus. We did a bit of kicking on the Golden Gate bridge the day they shut it down for cars and hundreds of thousands of people showed up to walk to/from Marin County. So many people crossed that a ‘bump’ which had been there for years was flattened.

Is it like the American equivelant of keepie uppies? To be honest I only know about it because of the Simpsons

Good cop / bad cop to get a ‘perp’ to confess to a ‘felony’ or ‘misdemeanor’

Sort of.

I still have my footbags around somewhere; they’re hand-made from a fellow in Berkeley.
