Massively massively more distracting to me than coughs or whatever, the glint just catches my eye and attention away from the screen, even rows in front and is so much more off putting to me that an occasional cough or whatever. Totally immersion breaking.

Remember there used to be a lot of hand wringing about the younger generation always being on their phones in cinemas but, in my experience it’s middle aged people who can’t possibly go two hours without looking at notifications. Boils my piss.

we all joke about london being expensive but having museums to visit

but really the benefit is the small cinemas that are reasonably priced and aren’t full of dickheads

think we should be telling our friends off if it’s going around tbf tbh

Got an idea for a thread

Cinema’s shite though, isn’t it. Should close them off and have everything released straight to streaming services.

Not sure this is a cromulent order of words but I’m sticking with it

I understand why they don’t it much, but I bloody love it when a film gets released on streaming services the same day as cinema.

Cromulent. Count how many times you hear that said. Truth is it is simply ‘fine’.

For the majority of these things*, it’s factors other than money that come into play. In the main, it’s time, distance (I’m a good hour away from the nearest gig venues) and childcare.

*in spite of the on-running joke, I’ve never tried cocaine and can’t ever imagine doing so, even if it was free.

Ahem

wtf people saying they wouldn’t go to more hotels

you saying if a 7 star hotel was £1 a night you wouldn’t be in one every weekend?

was hoping covid will revive the drive in cinema format, outside of london it seems to be a data harvesting scam. someone should put on drive in gigs

No, all my stuff is at home

Oh I quite agree. My local cinema doesn’t tend to be full of those utter chumps who can’t sit still for and leave their phones alone for two hours without flashing lights in everyone’s faces. The big one in Ashford is really bad for it though so I just don’t go there, terrible for my blood pressure. Plus it’s in Ashford so the phone check squad are welcome to it frankly.

No.

There are no “7 star” hotels In London. And who wants to go to Dubai every weekend?
