Yes I know what he said. Considering the experiences that many people would have had escaping Vietnam, even if his personally wasn’t as bad as being aggressively removed from a plane after being asked, then offered hundreds of dollars to do so, I thought the statement was a bit odd.

I don’t really understand why the media want to drag up this guy’s history in the first place. Are they saying it’s fine for security officers to have beaten this guy up because they were fortunate enough that he had a criminal past.

it’s par for the course sadly for some time now. even when someone is killed in some tragic accident, their social media profiles are ransacked for photos or little details that might juice the story up. disgusting but it’s the world we live in, or even enable

I think part of it is a reaction to the initial “I can’t believe they’ve done this to A DOCTOR” like his profession should have anything to do with it.

saying that the media are just terrible bastards and will print any dirt they can find on anyone. generating a few more clicks is worth more than ruining someone’s private life.
