This is a beautiful song involving half of Big Thief

I’ve only heard the OP song and Not. I might check out their other stuff!

You could start anywhere and not go too far wrong. In a way, Dragon Warm Mountain… is a good start as it feels like an 80 minute Big Thief mixtape. But I’d probably go with Capacity.

Seriously though, I think you could start anywhere.

Oh man, I think you’ll like them a lot. There’s a pretty strong Pumpkins influence / similarity running though Adrienne’s stuff, both with Big Thief and solo (a bunch of the Machina acoustic demos and some of the more gentle stuff on Pisces Iscariot could slot right in pretty easily). You can’t really go wrong but Capacity and U.F.O.F. are probably my two favorite Big Thief albums as a whole.

love little threads like this, makes the music board digestible

Love this. Always knew that Elbow talked about them lot and I liked Elbow, but I didn’t realise the extent to which it was an influence on all their most beautiful early stuff. Like, “influence” barely even covers it. Could listen to it all day.

great album, but parts of it really scare me/creep me out

there’s a specific frail violin part that is really haunting and bleak, think it only lasts for a few seconds but its fucked up in a great way

The rest of it slips past me a little bit, and I should probably give it more time overall as an album.

It’s one of those things that I always just want to listen to again once I’ve listened to it. It just enfolds me.
