oh that’s lovely. spendy for me, but the look and the hue seem perfect.

that seems quite useful - hadn’t thought of something like that

I really want something that has a warm light, I guess? I just want to be able to read without having the main light on.

although something with a pretty shade would be nice too? nice warm colours and patterns.

oh! I like that a lot - the pattern is lovely

damn, I’d love a browse of that thread

new DiS?

hah wow

I’d not considered such a thing, but intriguing nonetheless

I wonder which colour would be best - I’m mostly thinking of golden browny ones

it has a lot of options, even just white can go from warm to clinical, and it also has dynamic modes that cycle through different colours

wonderful

although I hope this doesn’t distract from new lamp recommendations in this thread

also lightshades

oh!

also: curtains?

that is some lightbulb, ttf

I’m very intrigued now

Get yourself a nice table lamp with a shade. My only bits of advice is don’t be tempted by lamps where you can see the lightbulb like this:

Because it will be too harsh and not relaxing!

something like this will be more warm and relaxing

I have one very similar to this that I really like!

I hate seeing bulb.

Me too. Too harsh! It’s like when someone takes a pic of you with a flash.

I also have a lamp with a shade that is mirrored on the inside so I see reflection of bulb! Not cool. Luckily I have it somewhere I can’t see the reflection of the bulb now.

@acorn do you have a Homesense or TKMAXX near you? They sometimes do unique and unusual lamps!

this is all good lamp advice, thank you!

I also hate seeing bulb, like you and @LilWoodyToodelly

there’s a TK Maxx, and I feel like I’ve passed a Homesense?

I’ll have a look on Maps

oh! yeah, the Homesense is in TK Maxx

Get one with a warm glow

Homesense is basically TKMAXX but the home department only. It’s good. Sometimes you get a gem! And usually under £20?

I would like one very much

I’ll have a cycle down, maybe today

nice to have a browse in person

I hate when the ceiling lightshade doesn’t block the light from underneath and it’s blinding if you’re underneath it.

I used to have a little tin foil cover that I’d poked holes in and attach to the bottom when watching films at a friend’s house.

Once I saw an anglepoise lamp in there and didn’t buy it and I’m still kicking myself years later!
