Does anyone remember my onion joke? I will repeat it here where it will hopefully find the audience it deserves.

(ahem)

I love the onion family - white onions, red onions, shallots, garlic, leeks, in fact I like ALLIUM.

You’ll never see an onion looking as unblemished as that in real life. Unrealistic standards in this photo IMO.

How do you pick your onion in the supermarket? What is your criterium?

I go on size, lack of blemishes and in-tact skin.

I don’t distinguish, I like allium.

Do you think that it truly makes a difference to the end result? I am similar and sometimes wonder if I’m being too stringent on onion-kind

Yeah, I think so. When an onion is slightly on the turn you can taste the difference IMO

What are you, fucking eating them raw? This is total bullshit.

No, I cook them. It’s a matter of public record that I will never eat raw onion (of any description)

Then you are being a fool thinking you can taste the difference. Once the onion is cooked it’s just onion.

An ian
hehe

not even a spring onion ?

I’m a big fan of onions.
