Seems that way but also I can see @sean’s edit and I hit to Hide Revision but I still see the symbol. Maybe he can’t

looks like this is a setting that can be turned off: https://meta.discourse.org/t/visual-distinction-between-reply-to-last-comment-and-reply-to-original-post/27501/5

@sean this post from @j0hn gor flagged as possible spam by “Akismet” which is cool but weird given the url is to Discourse

There are like a billion settings. Ok if I make you an admin?

Ok your now an admin @j0hn.

I’ve taken away the edit button and even I can’t edit my own posts now.

You’re*

i’ve found in settings:

editing grace period - For (n) seconds after posting, editing will not create a new version in the post history. (currently set to 300) (5 mins)

post edit time limit - The author can edit or delete their post for (n) minutes after posting. Set to 0 for forever. (set to 86400) (60 days?)

edit history visible to public - Allow everyone to see previous versions of an edited post. When disabled, only staff members can view.

Well, shit son, bring that edit button back

Can you set the period to 0 for grace period then re enable the edit button? Then I guess set total edit to 24 hours. But with a 0 grace we might all see all edits?

Wouldn’t it make more sense to only allow edits for 1 minute so people can correct any mistakes rather than them saying something and then quickly changing it and it all getting really confusing?

I don’t think editing posts is a problem as long as everyone can see the revision history like on FB but I’m okay with no editing at all, was just interested in options.

Worth noting the Delete All Posts options Mods get for users is limited by this same time period as far as I can see (that says older than 60 days aren’t deleted) and you can only delete a user if they have no posts left?

yeah i agree. 0 grace period, a few minutes editing time to correct mistakes.

Let’s keep it as no editing allowed for now - just in case people can edit each other’s posts, which is my main concern. I mean, the fact they know mods can edit their posts is gonna be an issue.

We’re only allowed 5 staff accounts on this set up so there will be a lot fewer mods.

Morning everyone!

i am anti -editing

everyone loves pointing out mistakes and hilarious typos!

you can only edit stuff for a short while after you’ve posted i think?

not sure if that was changed tho

Very nice! Loving the way it looks a bit like Podio or Basecamp or one of those jobbies.
