This summer

This year it has felt like summer’s a bit of a non-event. Almost like it arrived too early or something and wasn’t as welcome as last year for example, when it felt like summer was fucking well good and exciting. Like last year I remember really cherishing the weather and loving walking about in t-shirt and shorts. This year it’s like yeah so what, that’s what happens in summer.

  • Yeah I feel like that and know what you mean
  • I cannot relate to this

Got another theory actually that it’s all down to your vitamin D levels. I was taking vitamin D for a few months this time before so maybe I didn’t get the summer joy feeling because my vitamin D levels were already fine. Sad.

Too fucking windy, man. How is it just windy all of the time regardless of which month it is!?

Even the vibes at Glastonbury this year seemed different. I can tell because I was there, watching it on telly in the living room.

This! summer! Has! taken its toll on me, you said goodbye. Too many times before.

We did have a couple of weeks of nice weather. Seems like it was ages ago.

Does feel like we’ve skipped straight to autumn the last week or so though.

Just wish it wasn’t so fucking clammy. The absolute worst kind of weather.

IMO the type of summer days you want are about 25 degrees, sunny all day, little bit of a breeze but not actually windy and you don’t have to look after any kids or anything

Think I’ve had about 2 of those so far this year, so yeah, it’s felt a bit crap

If it’s raining it should be cold.

Warm(ish) weather and rain should be banned.

I don’t think I’m referring to the literal weather by the way. Just the season itself.

Excuse me, this is Britain. We simply must always talk about the weather.

Yes, it shit. It’s been raining here seemingly for weeks but I find it hard to be critical when other parts of Europe are on fire and declaring heat emergencies.

I’m still waiting for summer to come back.

Thankfully the St Swithin’s Day forecast makes no note of what’s in store past the 40 day window of absolutely certainty, which by my money gives us around 4 weeks of summer from last August, for us to truly anticipate.

  • It’s because last year was the first proper summer after COVID (was it? can’t remember tbh)
  • Mercury is in retrograde this time or something

Unsure if I’d prefer the ridiculous, infrastructure destroying heatwave the rest of the world seems to be going through, or this damp squib.
