I had a similar trajectory with them, loved the svefn g englar single, saw them at atp and thought that is enough of that. Always liken them to Doritos, enjoyed them at first, but by then end of the first packet I never wanted them again

Kveikur is a good album and the title track and Stormur are good songs, but it’s let down by how much Brennstein towers over everything else.

I’d probably level off ( ) and Takk at 9 each but otherwise agree. I’d give Hvarf/Heim an 8 if I were including that one too.

Agree with points above though that - especially with the drummer news and other changes in the band I’m not sure I’m particularly interested in hearing anything new from them but you never know, there could be a pleasant surprise at some point. Ditto for not being arsed about seeing them live in their diminished form - just can’t see it coming close to their previous life
