Seems like August is a bit… early? Even if the lockdown is lifted in summer, it’s hard to see events completely return to normal until much later. Then again, if they can book the gigs but not pay travel until nearer the time they may as well try and chance it?

Saw that Wide Awake and Cross the Tracks are encouraging people to hold on to their tickets for next year.

Would love to be supportive of newly established festivals but I don’t think there’s any guarantee that they’ll be economically viable next year and that people will definitely get that money back.

Wide Awake is run by a well-established group of promoters & venues so would be fairly confident in them still going in some capacity through to next year. Holding on to the ticket will certainly contribute towards that likelihood (if in a financial position to do so).

Knew it only had a very slim chance of going ahead but was really excited to see Pearl Jam.

For my daughter’s birthday we’d got tickets for Little Mix, and booked a hotel so that we could make a proper day / night of it. She’s going to be gutted.

(we also had tickets for the wife and I for Pearl Jam the weekend after).

Womad predictably cancelled too. That just leaves end of the road of my summer’s festivals. Wonder how long it’ll be before they have to pull the plug?

I knew it was coming but My Daughter’s going to be devastated about Taylor…As am I! We had a proper Daddy/daughter weekend planned and it was going to her first proper gig… I’m welling up just thinking about telling Her in the morning… She’s only 6 and has been so excited about it… :disappointed_relieved:

Its placing right at the end of the summer and the fact it’s not very big gives them a tiny bit of hope, but I’d still say it’s got a low chance of going ahead
