Looks like I’m going to be seeing The Smashing Pumpkins in Colchester in the year 2025. What a strange world

COLOUR ME INTRIGUED, SIR…

Last time he played solo he swore never again as people heckled, worried it will happen again and he will cancel machina box set as a result

One of my best record fair haggles ever by slipping this in a pile of other stuff and saying “will you take £50 for the lot” as the guy flicked through it all. Think I got original pressings of Live Through This and From Her To Eternity too. Me 1, men in flat caps who don’t really like music, still about 1000.

Great find and don’t want to be that guy but I think that’s maybe a bootleg - the original 90s pressings all have the white box where numbering would be in the bottom right corner

Still an amazing album to have on vinyl!

Just a magnificent song, isn’t it? The slight distortion after the first “all those yesterday’s coming down”, then the second verse of it and WHAM. Cascade of beautiful loud fuzz, IS IT SOMETHING SOMEONE SAID! Great guitar riff ensues. But just before you want to go into full face melt mode, they bring you back down to reality with “yesterday the sky was you and I still feel the same”, and then WHAM, back into that loud fuzz, sonic blast. Fade out guitar distortion.

Of all those 90’s grunge bands, Pumpkins still hold up the best for me by FAR. Alice in Chains second.

It’s incredible, I love it so much. I’ve probably said this before but the first time I ever heard it was at Laser Pumpkins at a planetarium - being introduced to the four minute feedback solo that way was mindblowing.

Just in case you’ve never heard the full version, oh man
