It’s true. Adore is a wonderful album. 10/10

Mentioned this recently but the bit in the video for Lyric where Corgan goes into a nightclub and dances is hilarious

Quite into this at the moment, nice effects lurking

Im partial to Towers of Rabble and Autumn Nocturne from the Mellon Collie outtakes. A pisces-style concise b-sides collection from the mellon collie era would have been gold

Made it halfway through Adore but I got bored. Feel like it would be better without the generic drums underneath, let the melodies and interesting guitar textures breathe. As it stands some interesting ideas seem to be underpinned by plodding stock beats that mask the ethereal qualities.

First track was gorgeous though, wish it was all like that.

Maybe I’ll try the second half later

definitely sags in the middle, think you will like the closing suite of songs though, a lot more breathing space. behold the nightmare has a bit of a programmed plod but think it isn’t too obtrusive

love this bit where of guitar squall

this is probably my favourite bit on the album

love the mixture of sounds on that track, sad piano, spaced out tape delay guitars, basic synth pads all intermingling nicely

I would chop perfect, crestfallen, appels+oranjes () and ava adore ( i quite like its cheesy angst though) and your left with a more manageable album…some lovely b-sides too incase you end up dpwn a rabbit hole:

Blissed and Gone
Czarina
Once in a While
Valentine
My Mistake
Chewing Gum
Do you close your eyes?

So, no one asked for this but the baby aint sleeping so gonna be up for a while. A 14 track bsides collection for the Adore/machina era since Judas O dropped the ball and stuck a load of mellon collie outtakes on there…interested for other’s ideas (excluding eye and the end is the beginning as Pisces left off drown and gynis and only ep tracks from machina 2)

1 Saturnine
2 Vanity
3 Chewing Gum
4 Slow Dawn
5 Valentine
6 My Mistake
7 Let me give the world to you
8 Soot and Stars
9 Cash Car Star
10 Waiting
11 Satellites
12 Speed Kills
13 Once in a While
14 Blissed and Gone

so cool that a non existent rarities album from an era generally considered past their prime (not by me) has songs as good as that on, puts most bands proper albums to shame

vanity, slow dawn, valentine, let me give the world to you, soot and stars, blissed and gone are all 10/10

Wait, what is this? I can’t find it anywhere. Kind of excited that I’ve missed something.

Just did mine and got tripped up with including / excluding alternate versions.

Ones with no alternate versions on Machina / Machina II LP that definitely would make it and weren’t on yours (or Judas O):

Jersey Shore
One Less Moment
Heaven

Been really, really high on Jersey Shore lately.

Thank you, I don’t think I’ve ever heard these before. He really was so prolific, I don’t think most people have any idea of the true depth of material backing up the albums.

Really wish he had done a full album in that really soft acoustic style at some point. Until a few days ago I’d been assuming the outtakes on the Adore reissue were the usual versions, but they really shine as solo acoustic demos.

No worries. There was also a big leak a few years back of machina era demos and a few other bits and pieces…Corgan threated to sue etc (i think this was partly a reason for the machina reissue being put on hold)
Might be able to dig some up if you’re interested:

Home (demo)
Raindrops+sunshowers (demo)
Identify
Without you (electric)
Strength in numbers
Sleeping giant

And a few others i cannot name off the top of my head…

Yeah the ending is much better, Blank Page is a great closer, that same desolate numbness that Radiohead would do years later with how to disappear
