My album write ups are so long they should count for at least, idk, 20 posts each. Which would put the Waits thread into the lead on both counts.

You underestimate the depths I’m willing to go to for ratings. By the time the Waits thread is done it’ll be a pit of scandalous debauchery the likes of which DiS has never seen.

I also partake in the Sonic Youth thread, though. But Tom Waits? He’s my guy. Down since day… wait, lemme check last.fm to see when I first listened to him… 23rd April 2007… which for Tom is… hang on a sec… day 20596… wait… or should it be the day he first released a record?

Sonic Youth is the best one (for me) even though I would suggest other bands with listening clubs I have been more into as in an actual fan of the band. It is pushing me to listen to their older material and I am realising how much I like it. DN is such a key album generationally.
Pink Floyd, Mogwai, Springsteen, Underworld, Orbital, Banshees, The Cure… all the listening clubs should have a massive face off. Listen till our ears fall off.

Tom Waits has been going a good chunk longer than SY so probably how its amassed more viewings.
I have never really bothered to listen to Tom Waits.

I’m just waiting for the people that dislike both to turn up.
I put like both because I don’t really like conflict. In reality I have naturally given a lot more time to Sonic Youth than Tom Waits. I figure I’d like him but seldom feel a push to try.
Tom Waits has about 10 good songs, Sonic Youth 3 or 4.

Same, his voice doesn’t appeal to me. Therefore voted for SY.
