My mate’s single is so tight I can’t push it down more than 0.5 cm
a firm but gentle wiggling can help - normally takes a few times for it to relax enough.
Or a suitable sized pencil in there with some gentle movement - you don’t want to make it too big.
What day is it again?
This is usually what I do - once you’re onto the round, unsharpened section of the pencil the centre hole should be big enough. Never used to have this problem until I got my new turntable!

I was tempted to get a vinyl copy of Highway 61 but I noticed it was 51 mins and seemed to be a single LP which seemed like it was likely to be a bit rubbish (this is a modern repress I think, no idea why it’s not a 2LP) like my copy of Hospice that is over 50 mins and sounds rubbish.
Aye that Hospice isn’t great. Highly recommend the 2LP version soooooo much better.
There’s one of those Mobile Fidelity 45rpm versions. Don’t know if they ever repress though.
YEah I’ve had my eye open for one of those Hospice reissues for a while, I’m sure one will crop up!
Think they’re pretty easily available and they dropped really cheap on scamazon for a bit there
