found some new arguments, doesn’t really make sense the first order now rule the galaxy (as stated in tlj opening crawls) mere seconds after having their major base/weapon destroyed. admittedly they had taken out a lot of the republic first but it would be chaos at that point

I used to have a job where I could literally go in, send an email and go home. I didn’t, I sat on DiS, listened to the radio and took super long lunch breaks with short days. Felt more like I was sticking it to the man somehow.

If you’d ever actually seen a Star War - which you haven’t - you’d know that TLJ takes place straight after TFA, in which the majority of the New Republics fleet is destroyed in the Hosnian System, along with their political and military leaders. As the New Republic, much like the Republic in the original trilogy, is a fairly loose political entity that didn’t have much of a military to begin with (no one but Leia really saw the New Order as a threat in TFA remember, hence the need for a resistance in the first place) that leaves the First Order as by far the most powerful force in the galaxy. They only lost a jumped up death star; the Republic was effectively destroyed.

Right, this is definitely, absolutely, 100% the last time I’m drawn into this.
