Oh that rings a bell!

Morning DiS I’m in an AirBnB in Porto which has no running water (ideal when you have a 9 month old with you) and these fucking Fun House stairs:

I’m hoping to drink some lovely port later and not break my neck falling down them.

Hahaha, what the hell. Sorry, I had to laugh.

what the hell are you supposed to do on them? I’m livid in your behalf.

I am officially on holiday for two and a half weeks! I have no plans. Currently hiding in bed but will eventually try to come up with ideas for not wasting it (anyone wanna hang out?)

Virtual private network. Allows you to change where the websites think you’re coming from so if it’s only available in the us you can fool it to think you’re in the us

I use nord vpn

aha, my bf will know how to do this. This means confessing to him that my NaughtyFriend wants to watch grey’s anatomy this weekend.

thanks!

We all slept in until 8.30. was lovely. Picked up Green Man early bird tickets for next year this morning, so that’s something to look forward to. Working the late tonight, so won’t be home until gone 10pm and back in at 7am tomorrow. Yay.

Think I’ve been on those stairs at a fairground Fun House once.

If there’s one thing you want to fuck around with and have a novelty version of it’s your staircase. Amazing.

It does have this view though

It’s so inappropriate in the face of stark and growing inequality but my god I love 7 Rings

we had stairs like that in a bit of our school. they’re not like that just for a laugh, it’s because the rise is too steep for regular steps. total nightmare to get up even when sober so good luck with the port.

it’s cool how they matched the flooring to the staircase though

Ffs came to this conference in Paris to give a talk, there’s 2 professors here who work in this tiny specific niche field I was talking about and neither of them came today. Proper deflating

Avoid the public toilets in Gare du Nord.

I can remember giving a talk at a conference (in Paris funnily enough) where it was a very niche field and the world expert was going to be there. Proper nerve wracking as it was the first opportunity for someone to say ‘you’re talking rubbish’. He didn’t but asked a really awkward question though.
