I just bought it at record store day 2012 for a fiver or whatever it was and never played it. I saw on Discogs that it was selling for up to €500. Put it up for offers & this dude offered €295. So I took the money & sent it to him …

was it numbered or somehow uniquely identifiable? It’s definitely a scam I’ve heard of before (happened to someone semi-well known, can’t remember who, selling a load of rare records), buyer sending back his own shitty condition ones and claiming they weren’t as described - really sucks

he has a 100% rating on the site too, though only 4 sales & 8 purchases in 3 years. But that’s academic really because we took the sale off-site to avoid fees (yeah, I know, rookie error) so who knows how many times he may have done that

but get this, he actually said to me in a mail that the sticker was partly sealed when it arrived but when he took the 7" out of the extra protective sleeve it ‘opened by itself’

the fucking chutzpah in making that claim

I even offered a compromise - I sent it registered mail which included a €200 insurance, I suggested that we claim that & he could take that money in good faith and he was all ‘no, I’m going straight to PayPal’ and had my account suspended pending a claim
