(Not read the whole thread so apologies if someone else has made the same point)…

If someone comes round unexpectedly then they’re very welcome to come in and hang out with us, but they have to take it as it is. So if the girls have got their toys out, or there’s washing that hasn’t been put away, then that’s fine. And if we’re in the middle of putting the kids to bed then they can read a story, and if we’re sat round in our slobs then so be it.

If we know we’ve got people for dinner or whatever then we’ll make more of an effort to get things tidied up.

I’ve got no other choice, even hostels there are too expensive and won’t let me stay for more than two weeks but I can’t rent a flat for less than a few months :sweat: waiting on cat lady’s response (it’s a Siamese)

Slightly emo post (historic family bereavement): I miss my mum and I wonder what she would have made of Facebook,
of social media,of my daughters, etc. I guess I just accept that she’s not around and never really ponder these things. But yeah, she would always have had something nice to say. I raise an imaginary glass to my mum (and yours) :wine_glass:

My mum like myself isn’t even on Facebook, and her mother before her wasn’t on Facebook. I come from a long line of non-Facebookers.
