haha oh i know i def said worse and it’s fairly tame compared to so much stuff out there, but there’s definitely also a movement building where people are crucified for shit they posted in their late teens because they should have known better. just feels like people are being dicked on for being naive or surrounded by toxic cultures/environments yeeears ago.

there was another one from around the same time where i casually referenced ‘the immigration problem’ in a throwaway joke status. just seemed to be such received wisdom from everyone around me at the time that i’d never have thought twice about mentioning it. deleted it now obvs.

I think with most things if people show genuine remorse, are aware of why what they said was wrong and commit to being a better person then we should try to forgive. I appreciate that’s very easy to say as a white man who hasn’t been subjected to many forms of abuse.
