Someone’s just informed the floor at great volume that ‘it’s not actually raining outside, there’s just a deeply heavy mist’.

All that worry wasted over nothing.

Tbh, it could have been either. The guy in question has a habit of being slightly on the eccentric side.

Question for all the IT nerds. I’m away from home for 4 working days and I’ve forgotten my laptop charger, which was a bit silly. What are the odds that an HP laptop charger will work on my Dell? Are they all similar?

Had similar things happen in the past it’s largely a good thing because it highlights a particular area where I need to improve.

I don’t see it as dread/ anticipation- for me it has been invaluable to forward plan for this and to know that we’re not alone and that while annoying, it’s perfectly ‘normal’. With the exception of one little boy who has SEN and has never had good sleep, all 25 or so of the kids in my ‘mummies group’ who were all born within a month of ours have gone through roughly the same patterns, with a big hiccup about 16-18 months, as they start to chat.

I am completely jealous of anybody who escapes it- well done for winning the parental lottery!

Worth a shot but it’s unlikely as whilst the power supplies themselves are likely to be similar the adapters for laptops from different manufacturers are incredibly varied.

Even within manufacturers.

I’ve got 3 dell laptops from work at the moment and each one has a different connector.

Oh sorry on re-reading it, it wasn’t intended as a criticism of you - it’s really useful to share this sort of thing!

We escaped that but have had other significant challenges - I guess it’s just good to be honest with each other and say that neither our children nor our parenting skills are perfect all the time

I generally thought dell were fairly good for this, I’ve been able to use the same charger for my ageing vostro as I do for my snazzy work latitude. Haven’t bought a laptop in ages tbf though.

Fuck sake, what an idiot (me)

Actually, tell a lie - two of them are Lenovos. My bad.

I am SO far from perfect! It has been really good for me as a person to be really bad at something and not have a fucking clue what to do about it! Getting better though

We’re all just winging it, UP, all us parents
