Most of our street was out for the NHS clap, which was lovely.

I live in a valley so the sound echoed around the town quite nicely.

We ate the much maligned (on here) Fray Bentos tinned steak puddings from our stash tonight. They were absolutely delicious.

Can’t wait to get out of isolation on Sunday. We’ve eked the food out, but our meals are getting a bit esoteric now. Had mackerel with sweet chilli sauce for lunch.

Wor Lass keeps making reference to growing up in Zimbabwe towards the end of the good days - she says food shortages were pretty bad but it was worse when the lights kept going out and you weren’t sure how much money was worth from week to week.

Her Serbian mate has a similar observation only hers came from living in Belgrade in the nineties and having food shortages, power cuts and people firing mortars at your house.

Yes thanks. Still needed a nap in the afternoon but apart from a residual bit of a cough I feel fine now. Very relieved.

joined a FB group full of telly wankers talking about all this help for self-employed people malarky and i think it’s made everything much less clear than it already was. just gonna wait for HMRC to contact me and say yes i’ll have some money please.
