Meeting my dad’s partner today after avoiding it for six years. Whelp.
Also feeling the sads as today would have been my granddad’s birthday

I’m on a half day, because the wee one wants to go trick or treating with his mates when it gets dark at 5, and then I suspect we’re going to be the house everybody piles back to at the end, freezing (which is just as well as I’ve decorated it quite well this year and have so many sweets in.) It now occurs to me I should probably also get some pizzas to stick on as they’ll not have had their tea, and maybe some hot cider for the adults. More stuff to organise, YAY.
Up at crack of dawn tomorrow to go to London, so need to remember to go to bed early.

Wild flight back to Luton and the scariest taxi journey of my life, more like. Quite grateful that I was too tired to be properly terrified by that point.
I’ve had an awkward start to the day. A close colleague who I’ve known for years was made officially redundant yesterday and today is her last day. I already knew, but she told everyone today and broke down, everyone just left her crying, I’m very awkward at the best of times but ended up making sure she was ok and giving her a hug.
I feel really bad for her. But I don’t know what else to say.

I’m so dang tired, half term is so hardcore. Still, trick or treating tonight (mulling over going dressed as Bruce Springsteen, or an approximation of Bruce Springsteen at least), our kid is going as a witch also! Got to carve two pumpkins, and do a bunch of work. Le family are going to visit my in-laws from tomorrow until Sunday, leaving just me and the dog. Is it going to be relaxing fun pupper time? Or is it going to be catching up the 27 or so hours of work I have left on this project that I’ve sidelined for half term stuff? I think I know the answer!
